AEB Transport Management Software

I contributed to the AEB Transport Management Software by designing an intuitive interface that streamlines planning, execution, and optimization across the supply chain. The software integrates AEB Cloud Services with partner solutions, enabling automated processes from freight procurement to delivery. My design enhances usability, ensuring a seamless experience for managing inbound, outbound, intercompany, and return shipments efficiently.

Challenges

I collaborated closely with the frontend development team while the design system was being developed to align with the company’s new corporate identity. I worked with newly made Figma components and created new ones to ensure consistency across the software. By fully understanding the product and its requirements, I was able to ensure the design seamlessly integrated with the evolving design system and met the software’s overall goals.

Learnings

During this project, I gained valuable insights into UI design, particularly in areas like layout organization, maintaining clarity, and handling complexity in design. I deepened my knowledge of Figma, working extensively with components, styles, and managing their various states. This involved not only designing reusable components but also setting up auto-layouts, ensuring consistency, and streamlining the design process for future updates. I also learned how to organize large design files efficiently, using pages, frames, and nested components to keep everything structured and easy to navigate. Collaborating closely with the frontend development team provided me with hands-on experience in development processes, including using tools like Storybook and understanding tasks like merging. Additionally, I gained a deeper understanding of the product itself, which allowed me to better align the design with its functionality and goals.
